Genable is a program of DHIT Global, a North Carolina nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (“DHIT Global,” “Genable,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of genable.org, including the Genable SilverTech Marketplace and related content and services (collectively, the “Site”).
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.
1. About Genable
Genable provides information, educational resources, product evaluations and other tools designed to help older adults, families and caregivers make more informed choices about products and services that may support independence, safety and everyday living.
The Site is currently intended for users in the United States who are 18 years of age or older.
2. General Information – Not Medical or Professional Advice
Content provided through Genable is for general informational and educational purposes.
Genable does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and information on the Site is not intended to replace advice from a physician, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional.
Some products and services featured on Genable relate to health, medication management, safety, mobility, caregiving or other areas that may affect an individual’s wellbeing. Individual needs and circumstances vary. You should use your own judgment and, where appropriate, consult a qualified healthcare or other professional before making decisions that could affect your health, safety or wellbeing.

3. Product Evaluations, Scores and Recommendations
Genable evaluates products and services to help consumers make more informed choices.
Our evaluations are based on Genable’s evaluation criteria, available evidence, product information, research and other sources we consider relevant at the time of review. Evaluations, scores, comparisons and recommendations reflect our assessment at that time and may change as products, pricing, evidence, features or other information change.
Genable uses DHIT Global’s proprietary e4 Evaluation Framework, which considers four dimensions:
- Effectiveness – Does it work?
- Experience – Can I use it?
- Economics – Is it worth it?
- Enablement – Can it fit into my life?
Where an Overall Score is displayed, it represents an assessment derived from these evaluation criteria. Scores and ratings are intended as decision-support tools and are not guarantees of product performance, safety, suitability or individual outcomes.
A high score does not necessarily mean that a product is the right choice for every person. Individual needs, preferences, abilities, living situations and budgets vary.
References such as “Best for independent living” or similar descriptions identify circumstances or needs for which Genable believes a product may be particularly well suited. They do not mean that a product is the best choice for every consumer.
4. Product Information
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information about products and services featured on Genable.
However, products, features, specifications, pricing, subscription fees, promotions, availability and other information may change without notice. Information provided by manufacturers, retailers or other third parties may also change or contain errors.
You should verify important product details, current pricing, availability, warranties, subscription requirements and other terms directly with the applicable retailer or provider before making a purchase.
5. Third-Party Products and Purchases
Genable does not manufacture, sell, ship, install or provide the products and services featured in the SilverTech Marketplace and does not process purchases or payments.
When you follow a link from Genable to a retailer, manufacturer, service provider or other third party, any resulting transaction is between you and that third party.
The third party is responsible for matters relating to the transaction, including payment processing, fulfillment, shipping, returns, refunds, warranties, customer service and product support.
DHIT Global and Genable are not parties to these transactions and do not control the terms under which third parties sell or provide their products or services.
6. Affiliate Relationships
Some links on Genable are affiliate or referral links. If you follow one of these links and make a purchase or take another qualifying action, Genable may receive a commission or referral fee.
Affiliate relationships do not determine how products are evaluated, scored or ranked.
Genable may work commercially with companies whose products appear on the Site. Any material commercial relationship associated with a recommendation or referral will be clearly disclosed.
7. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site contains links to websites and services operated by third parties.
These links are provided for convenience and to help users learn more about or purchase products and services. A link does not mean that DHIT Global controls or is responsible for the third-party website or its practices.
Third-party websites have their own terms, privacy policies, security practices and business practices. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with those terms when using third-party services.
DHIT Global is not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy or practices of third-party websites or services.
8. Intellectual Property
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, design, logos, product evaluations, original research, scoring systems, selection criteria and other materials created by or for DHIT Global or Genable, are owned by DHIT Global or used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The e4 Evaluation Framework, including its evaluation methodology, criteria, structure and associated materials, is proprietary to DHIT Global.
You may access and use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
Unless expressly authorized in writing by DHIT Global, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, modify or commercially exploit Genable content or use Genable’s evaluations, scoring methodology or proprietary frameworks to create or support a competing product, service, database or evaluation system.
You may share links to publicly available Genable pages for non-commercial purposes, provided you do not misrepresent your relationship with Genable or DHIT Global.
Third-party names, trademarks, product images and other intellectual property appearing on the Site remain the property of their respective owners.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site in a way that violates applicable law, infringes the rights of others, interferes with the operation or security of the Site or attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Site or related systems.
Without our written permission, you may not use automated systems, bots, scrapers, crawlers or similar technologies to systematically extract, reproduce or compile Genable content, product data, evaluations, scores or other information for commercial purposes.
You also may not attempt to reverse engineer, reproduce or derive Genable’s proprietary scoring or evaluation methodology from information presented on the Site.
10. Privacy
Your use of Genable is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how DHIT Global collects, uses and shares information associated with your use of the Site.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
We work to make Genable useful, accurate and reliable. However, no product evaluation, recommendation, comparison or informational resource can account for every individual’s circumstances or guarantee a particular result.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
DHIT Global does not warrant that the Site will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that all information provided by manufacturers, retailers or other third parties will always be complete, current or accurate.
Nothing in this section is intended to limit any rights that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DHIT Global and Genable will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site.
DHIT Global and Genable are not responsible for losses or damages arising from products or services purchased from third parties, including product defects, failures, shipping issues, installation, customer service, warranties or the acts or omissions of third-party manufacturers, retailers or service providers.
You remain responsible for evaluating whether a particular product or service is appropriate for your individual circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless DHIT Global and its directors, officers, employees and representatives from claims, liabilities, damages or expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Site, your violation of these Terms or your infringement of the rights of another person or organization.
This provision does not apply to claims arising solely from your ordinary personal use of Genable in accordance with these Terms.
14. Changes to the Site
Genable is an evolving service. We may modify, add, remove, suspend or discontinue content, features, product listings or other aspects of the Site from time to time.
We do not guarantee that any particular product, evaluation, feature or service will remain available.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Genable, our services, applicable law or our business practices.
If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Site after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Site will be subject to the jurisdiction of the state or federal courts with appropriate jurisdiction in North Carolina, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and DHIT Global regarding your use of Genable.
